Localisation: Talking about equitable partnerships and locally co-led funding

Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe’s partners are taking part in the Humanitarian Networks and Partnerships Weeks (HNPW) on 26 and 27 March 2025

Together with Charter for Change (Charter for Change – Localisation of Humanitarian Aid), local and national actors from different countries as well as members of the ACT Alliance, we are happy to support two events at the HNPW

1. Fair and Equitable Partnerships in Humanitarian Response: building and scaling models for local leadership

Date and time: 26 March 2025, 16:00 – 17:30 CET

Organisers: Charter 4 Change, Oxfam, Christian Aid, Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe, DanChurchAid

Hussein Kulmiye from Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe’s Partner organization SOLO from Somalia will participate as speaker from the floor and share his experience with collaborative and equitable consortia in the context of his experience in the ToGETHER Project (which includes a global consortium structure and in-country governance structures where local and national partners have the lead in decision making) and as Chair of the Partnership and Localisation working group in Somalia.

 

 

2. Developing locally co-led funding mechanisms: innovative models and best practices

Josh Balser from Proximity2humanity, an international partner supporting the Emergency Response Rooms in Sudan and Pinar Gökgün from Support to Life, national partner implementing supporting community led response in the Türkiye earthquake response will participate as speakers from the floor.
